Original AC/DC Frontman To Release 'Sinner' Solo Album In North America
February 21, 2006Heart Attack Records has set a February 28 North American release date for "Sinner", the latest album by founder and original vocalist of AC/DC, Dave Evans.
Australian Dave Evans was a member of AC/DC from the band’s inception in 1973 until 1974. Following his departure from AC/DC, Dave Evans formed the wild hedonistic rock band RABBIT, Melbourne '80s rock outfit DAVE EVANS AND THUNDER DOWN UNDER, and lastly DAVE EVANS AND HOT COCKEREL. Dave Evans has also toured as a solo act, and in 2004 released "Sinner" on Germany's Cultural Minority record label. "Sinner", which has been available in Europe, now makes its way into stores in the U.S. The album is also available from CD Baby and through Dave's web site.
After successfully touring in Europe and with the fans asking for and wanting a new Dave Evans album, Dave got together with some of Australia's finest hard rock musicians to write and record "Sinner". Former RABBIT bandmembers and mates Mark Tinson and David Hinds were quickly recruited as was former HOT COCKEREL bandmember Simon Croft. Along with Newcastle's finest — Mac on drums and Ngariki on bass (and guitar on a couple of tracks) — everyone went to work to write and record this classic hard rock album.
Theresa Bowen, president of the "Dave Evans International Fan Club Society", stated, "I am extremely happy that 'Sinner' is finally available in the U.S. I have received literally thousands of enquiries from Dave's many U.S. fans asking — no, demanding! — that 'Sinner' be available here. Now their wishes have been fulfilled!"
Dave has joined forces with with BLACK ZODIAC, a heavy metal band based near Tampa, Fla. (www.blackzodiac.net) and they will be embarking on a nationwide "The Sins Of The Zodiac Tour" beginning this spring.
